I was really honoured to be asked to speak this year at the Nelson Arts Festivals Pecha Kucha Event. And specifically, I was invited to speak about young adult cancer and the Whole Lotta Life Foundation.
Rather than give statistics, and talk about the specifics of the work we do, I wanted to paint a picture for people to better understand what it's like when you're diagnosed with cancer in your 20's or 30's.
For those unfarmiliar with the Pecha Kucha format, it was first created by a group of architects in Japan. People could present their idea using 20 slides, each of which would show for 20 seconds each. The format was picked up by artists and creatives and now Pecha Kucha events are held all around the world.
